Going the wrong way on your driving test isn’t necessarily a fail. If you do go the wrong way, stay calm and have to confidence to know you will be redirected by your examiner.

Get used to silence. Remember your driving examiner won’t be chatting with your during the test as you will need your full concentration. They don’t want to distract you, Especially at busy junctions. If this makes you feel nervous , it’s a good idea to have 1 or 2 lessons under test like conditions.

At the end of your driving test manoeuvre the examiner will ask you if you “are happy” with the outcome. If you aren’t satisfied with your accuracy that’s the time to correct your manoeuvre.

Get used to sat nav driving. During the driving test you will probably be asked to carry out 20 minutes following a sat nav. The examiner uses the Tom Tom 52. It’s a good idea to get used to the instructional style of the device.

Treat the test centre car park just as you would anywhere else. I.e. obey speed limits (10mph) signal at junctions and stay on your side of the road.

If you are following the road ahead at a roundabout, keep to the left hand lane unless directed otherwise by road markings or signs.

If you see the examiner touching their iPad, remember they might not be marking you down. They have to keep a record of which part of the test they have just carried out. Also, the examiner might not mark you down straight away, so not to distract you.
